Method : In a bowl, mix garlic, soy sauce, and lemon or kalamansi. Taste mixture. If it's too sour, add more soy . Add more juice if it's too salty. Slice beef meat into 1/4-inch strips. Pound it with a meat tenderizer. Season meat with ground pepper. Add meat to soy mixture. Stir well to make even distribution of meat in marinade. Let it sit in marinade for half-hour . In a heated skillet, pour in one tablespoon of oil. Stir fry the onion rings until clear in color but a touch brown on the sides. Remove from skillet. Set aside.

In the same pan, heat one tablespoon of oil. Pan-fry the meat in batches until each side turn brown. Pour the marinade into the skillet. Bring to a slow boil. Let it simmer for a couple of minutes or until cooked through. Taste the sauce and adjust consistent with your preference with more soy or juice, or some water. Allow it to simmer for 3 to five minutes. Arrange the meat slices onto a serving plate. Add the onion rings on top. Pour the remainder of the sauce.
